Our Services
Costume & Fancy Dress
We have a large stock of costumes and fancy dress, most of
which is made by us, ranging from chain mail, to regency dress,
to super heroes and villains. Our stock spans all eras right up
to present day.
Because we make the stock if we don't have what it is you are
looking for we can make it for you. The prices vary quite a lot,
depending on what it is you want, and start from as little as
£15 up to what ever! Please feel free to call at any stage
to get a quote from us.
We also stock masks, make up, wigs etc, if you only want bits
and pieces, in which case you need, only spend as little as a
couple of pounds; again, if we don't have what you want in stock,
we will try to order it for you from our suppliers who have massive
ranges (we have catalogues that can be viewed).
We are used to dealing with big groups for corporate functions,
parties, am, dram, groups and so on. We are also used to dealing
with people for reproduction garments, in which case we will research
fabrics and styles as much as possible. All of our items are cleaned
after they are returned.
Ball Gowns
All of our ball gowns are designed and made by us, so
you know you are going to end up with something different. Our
stock is growing so more than likely there will be some thing
for you on our rails. We range in style, fabrics, sizes, colours,
etc we try to keep up with some of the current fashions, but we
generally just design and make nice Garments.
Again if we don't have what you are looking for we will come
up with a design and make it for you. Although we no longer offer
a made to measure service, with fittings etc, we simply make the
dresses up to measurements or to standard dress sizes. Our prices
to hire ball gowns is around £75, and the buying prices
start from approx £150.
Corsets
We stock and make corsets in different styles.
Wedding dresses
Our stock of Wedding dresses is also growing, some of
which have a period theme, although not necessarily intentionally;
we also have traditional styles and colours and some less traditional.
If we don't have what you are looking for we can make it for
you to your specification. There is too much variation to give
ideas of prices for wedding dresses but we try to keep them as
reasonable as possible.
For instance if there is a style of ball gown that we have that
you like we won't charge more to make it for you just because
you are getting married in it. We do not hire traditional white
and cream style wedding dresses because we clean all of our hire
stock when it is returned and it is hard to keep these colours
looking pristine.
Hand embroidered products
Sue Seals (a partner of Farthingale) specializes in beautiful
Elizabethan style hand embroidery which can be applied to
almost anything; we hold a stock of embroidered products such
as bags, boxes (ideal to use as jewellery and ring boxes etc),
chokers, and also dresses with a little or a lot of embroidered
detail, which makes a very special and unique garment.
These products can be made and designed to your specification
with prices for boxes starting at as little as £12.50; to
apply embroidery to garments will vary in cost according to complexity
and size of designs.
We have made bags, on a number of occasions, for brides and bride's
maids to carry instead of flowers, they often work out the same
price and you can have to your own specification a beautiful family
heirloom
Hand made tiaras
We carry a small stock of exquisite hand made tiaras by Amy Williams,
which can again be made to your designs if we do not have what
you want in stock, all Amy needs is a design or idea of style
and colours and, she can more than likely come up with what you
want.
The beauty of this is that you can have your tiara made to fit
in with the colours and styles of wedding dresses ball gowns and
so on.
